The European Youth Parliament Greece (EYP Greece) is a non-profit organisation independent of political and party interests. It was legally established in 1994 as one of the 41 National Committees of the European Youth Parliament, and has its permanent seat in Thessaloniki.
EYP Greece is committed to organising consistently and with the voluntary participation of young people, 2 National Selection Conferences (NSC), in Thessaloniki and Athens, on a yearly basis. During these Sessions, high-school students from several regions of Greece are taking part in a full four-day programme which introduces them to the European Parliament’s decision-making process and function. The students who are selected to participate in International Sessions and Fora form the Greek delegations in these Sessions.
Our Goals:
-
Encouraging young people to engage with European matters and deal with issues of European interest, thereby enhancing their European identity.
-
Creating fertile ground for dialogue between young people, independent of party and micro-political interests.
-
Promoting respect, intercultural dialogue and a collaborative spirit to achieve a common result.
-
Contributing to the development of young students’' personal skills.
Voluntary action is an important aspect of our events. After their first involvement with the organisation, students have the option of offering to the organisation as volunteers, and at the same time developing diverse skills while working in different groups. Thus, our organisation is run by the youth for youth!
