EYP Greece Mentorship Programme
“Touched by an Angel”
Every new or former member of the European Youth Parliament of Greece (EYP Greece) is called upon to face certain objective difficulties in terms of understanding the functioning of the organisation, its smooth integration and finding the right "steps" to follow in their journey.
The solution to this is the Mentorship Programme of EYP Greece "Touched by an Angel", which is coordinated by the Human Resources Working Group (Head: Georgia Stefanidou, Members: Panagiotis Tziatzios, Iro Michailidou, Maria Fotopoulou, Georgios Risvanis, Athanasios Cheimonas, Stavros Marmaras).
Referring audience
The Mentorship Programme over the last 5 years has involved new members of the association who wanted to start their journey in it and old ones who wanted to continue in a more specialized way. Now, the first round of the mentorship program for the 2024 term is mainly for new members of the EYP Greece who want to take their first steps in the EYP Network. The programme aspires to prepare the next generation of Greek EYPers for the challenges and opportunities of the network.
The programme is practically open to all members and friends of the European Youth Parliament Greece who have started, want to start their journey in it and to members who want to continue their journey creatively and productively.
In this respect, the Mentorship Programme aims at the smooth integration of:
- Students who have been involved with the EYP in the past but have not actively continued their journey,
- Members and friends who want guidance and on the next steps to take and deepen their knowledge on Administrative issues of the association,
- Students/students who have recently learned about EYP Greece and have not participated in its Conferences.
What’s the proccess;
Specifically, every new member and friend will have the opportunity to register for one of the two rounds of the mentorship programme and get their own “angel” mentor. Through a personalized meeting- and the sending of additional support material - they will have the opportunity (1) to be informed about the functioning of the EYP and EYP Greece respectively, (2) to understand how they can contribute and participate in the activities, (3) to receive advice and clarifications on any issue they wishe, such as writing applications for conferences and (4) to solve any questions they may have regarding administrative and operational issues of the EYP.
The process will consist of three stages:
The first stage is the contact between the angel mentor and the mentee and the first teleconference or face-to-face meeting, lasting about one hour, after agreement between the two. The first call will be followed by the sending of support material, informing the mentee about opportunities for participation in EYP activities and employment with activities organised by the Human Resources Working Group. There will thus be a period of adaptation and active integration of the mentee in the EYP and EYP Greece, where the "angel" mentor will be by their side to offer advice on everything they need. The third and final stage involves completing an evaluation form to determine the degree of integration of the individual and draw conclusions about the success rate of the programme.
In addition to this first introductory call, the angel mentor and the entire Human Resources Task Force will be available thereafter, always in an advisory role alongside members and friends.

Not sure if the programme is what you need to start your journey to the EYP Greece? Below you can read the experiences of people who have participated in the program:
Stergiani Topalidou: "The Mentorship Programme gave me the opportunity to discover more about the network and the roles of a conference. It made me want to continue my journey in the organisation and try different roles in conferences in Greece and abroad until I find the one that suits me. Finally, it gave me many new friends, fun experiences, useful knowledge and a special relationship with my mentor, something I will definitely never forget!"
Konstantina Foteini Sidiropoulou: "The Mentorship program provided by EYP Greece, in which I participated last year, is an opportunity to understand the vision and goals of the association. At the same time, it aims to familiarize young people who have an appetite and wish to become more actively involved in the cycle of activities and conferences provided. It was the most important stimulus and motivation to better organize my application and to win a place at the 47th National Conference held in Athens in April."
Angelos Boblianiotis: "I, for the first time, entered the world of the European Youth Parliament of Greece through a very close friend of mine at the 46th National Conference that took place in Thessaloniki in December 2023. It was definitely an experience I will never forget, as I have never participated in a similar activity before. Apart from developing various skills, EYP broadened my social circle a lot and I had the opportunity to meet people I am still very close to today. Overall, I think I gained a lot of things and I would recommend anyone considering it to try it without any doubts or second thoughts!"
