Dear applicants,
It is my great honor and joy to present my editorial vision of the 48th National Selection Conference of EYP Greece, Thessaloniki 2024. At the core of the session, “Harbour of Innovation: Facilitating a Human-Centered Digital Transition and Fostering Youth Employment”, is a belief in the power of creativity, collaboration, and growth.
I’m looking for individuals who are unafraid to explore new ideas and who are passionate about innovative storytelling in a rapidly changing digital landscape. I believe we thrive on collaboration, so I’m looking for a team players who are eager to contribute to a collective vision, support their peers, and engage in meaningful dialogue to create impactful content.
My hope is to create an environment where you feel comfortable sharing ideas and receiving feedback in a way that builds up both our content and the team. I strongly believe in a leadership that is rooted in kindness and support.
As an editorial assistant, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills in a group that values mentorship, learning, and mutual respect. I am committed to helping you grow in your role, guiding you though challenges - but more importantly, celebrating your successes.
As we adapt to a digital sphere that is changing rapidly, we have to adapt the way we consume and create media output.
There is no better place to start than Thessaloniki 2024.

Dear (potential) applicant,
As we embark on the 48th NSC of EYP Greece, I invite you to join me in creating an innovative and dynamic academic experience that prioritizes growth, collaboration, and real-world applicability. My vision for the Academic Team rests on two core pillars:
1) Task-Based Learning
Rooted in the idea that people learn best by actively engaging in real-world tasks, task-based learning not only enhances understanding but also fosters motivation. Participants are challenged to problem-solve and reflect in ways that go beyond traditional methods, creating a more dynamic learning environment.
This task-based approach extends to all facets of our preparation. Indicatively, we will be working with gamified Topic Overviews, training each other (i.e. Board to Chairs, Chairs to Chairs, Chairs to Board) in consideration of other’s unique skillsets, and networking with experts from within the EYP community that will advance our understanding of the Session Theme. What’s more, instead of simply researching and subsequently presenting content, we will collaboratively design tasks that help Delegates uncover and grasp complex issues themselves.and often, so that
2) Growth Mindset
A key component of our work will be cultivating a culture of growth, where effort, resilience and continuous improvement are valued over innate ability. To achieve this, we aspire to modify buddy groups and assume collective responsibility over the workload of the Academic Team. By promoting this process-oriented mindset of constructive feedback and peer-to-peer mentorship, we strive to empower both Delegates and our selves to become adaptable, confident thinkers who see every obstacle as a stepping stone towards self-development.
Take some time to think where are you in your life right now and what you need to develop as a person and as an EYPer. Do you see yourself as part of Thessaloniki ’24? Do you think you are in a position where you can both learn from your peers, and teach them - as you draw from your individual expertise? If yes, there’s nothing to add other than,
“See you in Thessaloniki!”
Bill
